Distressing video as 2 boys in pyjamas are in armed standoff with police
This disturbing video was captured by a local County Sheriff in Bernalillo in New Mexico earlier this year but was only released over the weekend.
In the drone video, the young boys, aged 7 and 9, can be seen handling the loaded gun, passing it back and forth, and hiding it behind their backs.
One is wearing Minecraft pyjamas while the other is in dressed in Star Wars PJs.
The sheriff's office said deputies fired a non-lethal weapon at the children, allowing them to secure the area and prevent anything further from happening.

The sheriff's office says it released the video to highlight the use of its drone technology and Behavioural Health Unit to “monitor the situation in real-time, providing critical updates and enhancing situational awareness.”
Police have also defended the decision not to arrest the boys calling the case a “complex intersection of juvenile crime, mental health and public safety.”
