Shocking moment travellers on a horse cart charge down a road before colliding with another wagon
There is a massive operation to clear up fields of discarded rubbish this week as thousands of travellers head home after their annual Appleby Horse Fair.
Pictures doing the rounds on social media show couches, wooden furniture, bedding, food and toilet waste strewn across the picturesque Cumbrian countryside this morning.
It comes as footage of two young men on a horse cart shows their vehicle spiral out of control and crash into another wagon as families watch on.
Onlookers can be heard gasping at the collision which took place after the cart had hurtled down the path at speed.

The pair of carriage drivers are thrown to the floor before they hurry to their feet and chase after their horse and cart as it runs amok amid the spectacle.
Although the week-long fair does not officially finish until Wednesday, many travellers started to leave on yesterday after the main events took place over the weekend.
Appleby is billed as the biggest traditional gypsy fair in Europe and takes place in the market town of Appleby-in-Westmorland, Cumbria, every year.
